The Summer Solstice 2025 is not just a celestial event; it’s a profound opportunity for growth, connection, and celebration. A reminder of the light that exists within us and the potential for growth and transformation. It encourages us to shine our light brightly and share our gifts with the world.
Summer Solstice marks a powerful intersection of nature, spirituality, and mythology. This sacred moment invites us to celebrate and reflect, connecting with the divine energies of Helios and Apollon.
In Cyprus, the sun, Helios, is not just a celestial body; it is a vital force that has shaped the island’s culture, agriculture, and spirituality. Helios is felt in the vibrant landscapes, the golden beaches, and the lush greenery that thrive under the sun. During the summer solstice, we honor Helios and the light he brings into our lives, recognizing the importance of sunlight in our physical and spiritual well-being.
Apollo, the god of prophecy, music, and healing, embodies the pursuit of truth and enlightenment. His connection to the sun and his patronage of music and creative expression, further emphasize the paths we honour and celebrate on this date.
Astrologically, the Summer Solstice occurs when the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, entering the sign of Cancer. This transition heralds a time of emotional depth, nurturing, and connection to our roots. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, supports time with family and we are encouraged to be together, strengthening bonds to our loved ones.
The heightened energy of Sun in Cancer invites us to explore our emotional landscape, what has transpired so far, what we have felt and moved and stored within our bodies, allowing for healing and self-discovery.
In reflection of this calling, we have come together to co-create a journey of joy in celebration of the sun and our journey:
Through Ecstatic dance movement we honour not only the international day of music but also our own healing journeys and celebrate the Solstice by coming together in community - our chosen family. DJ Juanito Azul, much beloved to our Ecstatic Dance Limassol events will be playing two sets supported by the ritual circle opening and closing the ceremonial dances.
To mark International Yoga day, two yoga teachers full of heart and deep love of the practice will guide you in connecting to this ancient pathway.
The weekend is dedicated to fun. playfulness, music and connection. Children are warmly welcomed.

Juanito Azul
Juanito azul a.k.a johnny Blue developed his signature style seamlessly blending sounds into deeply sensational music journeys in the early 90’s. he is a senior rep on the Cyprus' psychedelic scene, the founder of Psylent Harmony and co-founder of ChakradeliC. he is signed by Mikelabella Records, Peak Records and is on the Sofa Beats / Feel Life Music roster His first compilation titled "Planet Blue" was released in December 2012 and his second, "Blue Moon", in April 2014.
He was the resident DJ on “Digitally Imported Psychill radio adn is currently at radiozora with his monthly “berrytales”
Johnny Blue has played sets globally from the USA , to Australia, Mexico , UK , Morocco , Israel , Russia and Numerous European countries. he has played at festivals such as Boom , Ometeotl , Lost Theory , Antaris , Mo:Dem , Psy-Fi festival amongst many others and has been stage manager at both Boom festival and Psy Fi Festival. he has been on the radio scene for decades. His project juanito azul is his expansion into ecstatic dance and organica with a very distinct signature: playing sets in keys corresponding to frequencies in the human body.

The space is free of judgement, safe and held by the Dance Journey facilitator and DJ.
The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping people cope with stress and to attain serenity. Using only the pure collective energy generated in the space, dancing barefoot, without any substances or mind or body altering mediums, dancers release themselves to the rhythm and move as freely as the music takes them, leading to a feeling of bliss.
No matter if you have danced before or are re-learning to move your body in creative ways, the dance floor invites you to come as you are, to move in your own free form way.
In the ancient and widespread practice of shamanism, ecstatic dance and rhythmic drumming were used to alter consciousness in spiritual practices. Ecstatic sacred dances are known also from religious traditions around the world.
Everyone's experience is their own but dancers often have shared experiences, such as a release of body blockages through heat or energy movement, the release of pent up emotions (sadness, anger, confusion). There may be realisations about dysfunctional thought patterns or new insights, and deeply spiritual or energetic experiences.
Ecstatic Dance can help heal emotional pain and with processing emotions, revealing a sense of increased clarity. Therefore, we invite you to come as you are. No need to be happy, or "in the mood" or to be anything or anyone at all.

The main event of this weekend that brings everything together: our ceremonial ecstatic dance invites us to channel the inspiration of Apollo. Moving freely to uplifting music, connecting with sound and spirit. Even if you have never danced like this before, come with an open heart and a willingness to explore. Ecstatic Dance Limassol and the Conscious Collective facilitate monthly ecstatic dance journeys, masterfully weaving sound and ceremony into an expansive, energetic release designed to uplift and inspire. For this weekend our very own Juanito Azul will play 2 ecstatic dance sets and the orion connection, a new ecstatic dj on the cyprus scene, will open the weekend with an uplifting set.
